Willa Dong traveled to China during Summer 2017 as a CGI Pre-dissertation Exploration Awardee. Willa is originally from Maryland, and lived and worked in China for five years prior to beginning her doctoral studies at UNC in Health Behavior.

Jonathan Van attends the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, double majoring in Biology and Chinese with a minor in Marine Science. From June to August of 2017, he was enrolled in a language-intensive study abroad program in Harbin, China. During his time abroad, he attended Chinese language courses, participated in a variety of cultural events, and of course ate a lot of delicious food. He hopes you enjoy this culture kit!
