Victoria: I am a senior at UNC and I study Linguistics, Speech and Hearing Sciences, and Spanish for the Professions. During the summer after my sophomore year, I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain for six weeks. During my time there I lived with a host family and was able to practice my Spanish and learn a lot about Spanish culture. I am so glad to be able to share some of what I learned there!

Maria: I am a 2nd year nursing student at UNC. I went to Spain to complete my global health experience in nursing. While in Spain I stayed a week in Pamplona where I attended the University of Navarra and received several nursing classes that discussed Spain’s health system, Spain’s nursing educational system and their nursing values. During my second week, I traveled to Santander, Madrid, Granada and Barcelona where I visited a couple Down’s syndrome centers with my professor and learned about the resources the facilities provided to help families and children cope with the disorder. While there, my professor gave presentations on her research related to Down’s syndrome and received feedback on her research.
