Abeena Adu-Nyako
My name is Abena Adu-Nyako, and I am of Ghanaian descent. While I do live in America, both of my parents were born in Ghana, and my grandparents still live there. I have visited Ghana three times, and each trip is an enriching and rewarding one. The older I get, the more I appreciate the traditional values I learned while growing up. It was also exciting to see these cultural values and practices in a much larger context than just in the home I grew up in. I am a junior at the University of North Carolina studying Global Studies: Health and Environment and Public Policy. I am interested in Education Policy, as well as increasing intercultural awareness among the youth.
