My name is Renuka Koilpillai, and I am a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill. I enrolled in Carolina Navigators as part of my class on
immigration. Considering this, I tried to link aspects of immigration into my Culture Kit. I was born and raised in Halifax, Nova
Scotia, Canada, and only moved to Chapel Hill when I was 18 to attend college. I decided to choose Nova Scotia as my place of
choice because I have a strong connection to it and because I think that it is a center for multiculturalism. The point of the kit is
to showcase some of the key immigrant groups in Nova Scotia, as well as some other noteworthy Nova Scotian items/events.
