Akari Yoshida, senior undergraduate student at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, was born and spent most of her life in a city called Yokohama, a metropolitan city right next to Tokyo. After graduating from high school, Akari attended a community college in Seattle and transferred to UNC-CH to finish her bachelor’s degree in communication studies and economics. Living in the United States made her realize so many things including some of the unique and distinct culture of Japan.
