I am a student at UNC-Chapel Hill pursing a Computer Science B.S. and minors in Japanese and Studio Art.
I chose to study abroad in Japan because I have loved Japanese culture since a young age. I first started
liking Japanese video games and collecting Japanese erasers when I was in elementary school, but I never
imagined I would study Japanese. My family went to Japan for a week during the summer before my
senior year of high school and I absolutely loved it there. Learning about Japan’s beautiful culture made
me want to study Japanese. When I enrolled at UNC-Chapel Hill, I started taking Japanese classes and I
loved it. I studied abroad in Japan during the summer before my junior year of college and bought back
these items to share some of Japan’s culture with students in North Carolina.
