Alexandra Ward is a junior at the University of North Carolina, class of 2012. She is biology major with minors in chemistry and religious studies. Originally from Houston, Texas, Alex found on internship with BIPAI (Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative) through association with the Baylor Medical School in Texas. She loves working with children and became interested in Baylor’s mission of helping pediatric AIDS patients. Alex spent six weeks living and working in Maseru, Lesotho. Her efforts focused on a play therapy project for children in the Children’s Medical Ward in Queen Elizabeth II, the national referral hospital of Lesotho. Alex plans to return sometime in the future to follow-up her work in Lesotho.
