I was born in South Korea and moved to California, USA when I was six-years-old. Growing up, I lived under two different cultures: Korean and American. Although I was familiar with certain aspects of Korean culture, I didn't know much about it's history and why certain things were the way they were. In 2011, I went back to South Korea to teach English to public elementary students for one year. During that time, I came to love and learn so much more about South Korea. The experience deepened my understanding of Korean culture and appreciate its cultural values and history, so far away and different from America's.
