This Zapotec Cultural Discovery Box was developed by Lynn Eddy-Zambrano, K-12 Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Latin American Studies at San Diego State University. It is one of several boxes highlighting native Mexican cultures developed in collaboration with the Consortium in Latin American Studies: University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill/Duke University and funded under the auspices of a grant from the US Department of Education, Title VI, National Resource Centers. Cultural discovery boxes have also been created for Mexico’s Maya, Mixtec, and Nahuatl peoples.
